Palm Sunday and Holy Week

Text of the week:  John 3:16

God in the midst of us. That to me seems be one of the themes of Holy Week. Jesus, fully human, fully God, walking among us. Reaching out to us. Recognised by some; rejected by others. A whole host of contradictions. And the greatest contradiction is this – God still walks among us today, as he did all those years ago. But it is up to us to recognise him within those we meet; up to us whether we acknowledge him. Our decision whether, in our words and actions, in what we do and what we fail to do, we choose to love, or we choose to deny, to crucify him on the altars of this world.
