Welcome

Welcome to the web church of St Kentigern’s Church, Ballater, St Thomas’ Church, Aboyne and St Ninian’s Chapel, Braemar. Our group of churches is based in beautiful Upper Deeside, in the Cairngorms National Park, Aberdeenshire. We are part of the diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney, in the Scottish Episcopal Church. Most of our members are locals. But we have some who are scattered further afield – Aberdeen, London, Moscow and South Africa, for example.

While the coronavirius restrictions are in place, we will hopefully be posting sermons, the Lent course on Psalms and various other bits and pieces on here. It’s a work in progress, so please bear with us.

This site is experimental. It’s trying to build church and relationships with those we can’t meet from day to day. It’s not designed to replace worshiping with a local community, wherever you are. But we do recognize that sometimes local church doesn’t exist, or it’s not possible to attend one. So it will hopefully help us keep in touch; to share what we are learning; to pray for each other; and to provide a little bit of ‘home’ wherever we are in the world. You are welcome to join this dispersed community of faith… you are welcome to join us in person when you can!

You can find information on our individual churches by clicking on the following links. We are different in character, but we belong to the same family.

St Kentigern’s Episcopal Church, Ballater

St Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Aboyne

St Ninian’s Chapel, Mar Lodge, Braemar

This site is in the process of being built – if you think of anything else you’d like to see on it, let us know and we’ll do our best 🙂
